Hobbs unveils its AW13 footwear and accessories collection. Hobbs London Footwear Collections are designed in London and handcrafted in Italy. For AW13, Hobbs introduces a host of newly refined silhouettes in glossy spazzolato leather and soft suedes. Designed by Olivia Morris the footwear collection draws from the extensive Hobbs archives dating back to the founding of the brand over 30 years ago – the collection pays homage to iconic Hobbs designs – updated for the here and now. From equestrian-inspired riding boots and pointy metallic T-bars, to a punched-leather brogue detailing rendered as a decorative trim on twotone platform ankle boots and the elegant ghillie-style criss-cross lacing that now adorns a pair of heels. This season’s key colours include blush, burgundy, ivory and animal prints, which extend to the accessories collections.
The sole of each shoe is discreetly embossed with the new ‘H’ Hobbs logo. This season, the bag collection sees a focus on sleek, pared-down shapes, tactile leathers (glossy spazzolato, textured saffiano, calf leather, twin-needle quilting) and luxurious detailing. Hero pieces include the boxy leather Romina shoulder bag and the slouchy grab-and-go Teddie clutch. Also, handmade in Italy, the accessories showcase its new hardware (locks, hang tags, logo plates), which has been subtly branded with the House Mark, and raised bombé details. The reinvention of the accessories and footwear collection coincides with a store redesign that will begin with the brand’s Covent Garden flagship on September 6.
