Birmingham-born ‘She’ soul siren, Laura Mvula, 27, lazily hailed as ‘the new Adele’ courtesy of a mirror-like glowing reputation as an adeptly trained classic-style pianist, soulful vocalist and intelligent musicality composership aims to forge her own indelible imprint in British music.

Tranquil new single ‘She’ lifted from Mvula’s debut studio album entitled ‘Sing to the Moon’ is a bewitching, classy affair that becomes more pleasingly gripping with each respective play. The understated, regally-placed chords accompany complex vocal arrangements, punctuated with a heaven-sent serenity to sooth the senses of even the most sceptic of listeners is the coup de gracé.

BBC Urban Classic Prom was elegantly staged inside the Royal Albert Hall this month; which saw the talented Mvula headline alongside the BBC Symphony Orchestra (Wretch 32, Lady Leshurr, Maverick Sabre featured). The hybrid, culture-clashing experience broken new territory for Laura Mvula.

The singer-songwriter was listed amongst BBC Sound of 2013, and has now lived up to her part of the bargain with the beautiful ‘She’.
