This song got to me. It cut right through my psyche, in a beautiful fashion. Nigerian-French talent Asa has announced the UK release of her new EP, ‘Dead Again’ for August 25th through Naïve. I can’t stress how necessary and impactful the work of this phenomenal artist is.
It is the lyrical content is what gives this track its power. Insightful and intrinsically deep; the layers from the soft subtle intro to the introduction of the instrumental element and heavy base only add to its overall quality. It is no surprise that Asa has already achieved major success on the international stage. ‘Bed of Stone’ follows acclaimed releases ‘Beautiful Perfection’ and the self-titled Asa, which unsurprisingly picked up a top 5 spot on Billboard’s World Music Chart.
An exciting fact is that Asa plays her first UK gig in many years at London’s Union Chapel October 2nd; and be sure I will be in the front row to provide further commentary on this vibrant talent.
