#HealthMatters | #Food | Low Carb Food Ideas To Keep You Fit And Healthy

Because the summer is over and winter is looming over us, it can be a little harder to stay on the healthy eating track. With colder weather and longer nights, we often turn to comforting bowls of soup with crusty bread, big plates of pasta or beef stew. But the only issue with these foods is the carbohydrate content.

#SpotlightInterview | Journalist & Author of “Riley Can Be Anything” Davina Hamilton

The highlight of running a site like In-spire LS is that I have the opportunity to interview who use their work to positively influence the lives of others. Children are the future and it is our responsibility to ensure we instil with them knowledge to tap into their self esteem and become who they’re destined to be. Journalist and children’s book author Davina Hamilton is the #powerwoman behind the inspiring debut book “Riley Can Be Anything” a children’s book which encourages and inspires children to open their horizons and dream big.

Hamilton is an accomplished Journalist having worked for the reputable newspaper The Voice for 15 years. I catch up with Davina to find out why she decided to move into the world of children’s literature,  how she overcomes barriers, how she balances work and family life, her tips for success plus much more. #BeINspired!.

#MusicMatters | Inspirational Track Of The Week: Nas ‘I Can’

Was it really 15 years ago that I heard this smash hit from Nas’s Platinum selling album ‘God’s Son’. Featuring production from Eminem, Salaam Remi and Alchemist ‘God’s Son’, the album was partly inspired by the passing of his mother and his then feud with Jay-Z.

#MovieMatters | All Eyez On Me Review

I didn’t want to allow myself to be at all encouraged to give this movie a low rating based purely on the reviews I had read of it prior to being invited to a press screening. I couldn’t call myself a die-hard Tupac Shakrur fan. I had my favourite tracks (notably California Love, Happy Home, Changes, How Do You Want It and Ballad of a Dead Soldier to name but a few) and I loved him in his movie roles. I also took the time to read ‘The Rose That Grew From Concrete’ ; so I was indeed schooled in his analytical and literary sides too. However, like many women I was often caught up by the sheer beauty of the man. Aesthetically; he was almost perfect (if not perfect) and was a multi-faceted, multi- talented, and multi- platinum selling artist, actor and writer. He achieved so much in his short but not short of events life and although I ultimately knew of his beginnings, middle and untimely end; I welcomed a little deeper insight into his story.

#MusicMondays | Inner City Infa : My Name

I’m simply a sucker for a nice beat, sweet boy lyrics and cool visuals. I also have a major appreciation for independent artists. It’s not easy to get your music out there; especially without a powerhouse record label behind you. You could say however that it is without such influence that the magic happens and talent and passion can truly be heard.

#MusicMatters | #Exclusive – Chase N. Cashe – “The Black Jesus’ (Video & Review)

I’m liking the sound of this; let me press the pause button, hit replay and turn up the bass!.  Yes, this is my immediate reaction after hearing what is a ‘stand out’ and ‘stellar’ musical offering by the critically acclaimed producer and musician Chase N. Cashe. From making music at the young age of 17, Chase N. Cashe has built up a credible producer resume having gone on to create groundbreaking tracks such as ‘Drop The World’ – Lil Wayne featuring Eminem, ReBirth 2010 and one of my personal favourite tracks ‘Look What You’ve Done’ from the Grammy Award-winning Album of the Year ‘Take Care’ by Drake.

#MusicMatters | The Brit Awards in Numbers

I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only one who has found the Brit awards to be quite limp wristed. As much as there is a vast amount of talent residing within the UK. Our award shows never seem to come up top trumps unless with have some American talents waving their flag. So, you can imagine my complete surprise when I looked at the run down of the talent performing at this year’s event. Pretty impressive to say the least.
